Currents Deep and Deadly in Hard or Soft Cover

Currents Deep and Deadly in Hard or Soft Cover

I just finished reading an exciting book. (No it wasn’t about art but it was about my second favorite thing:  travel).  It is one of my favorite books that I read this year. If you love a fast-paced, action packed mystery, I invite you to meet the author, Arleen Alleman  . . . . and pick up a personally signed copy of “Currents Deep and Deadly” during the November 5 ArtWalk.  Then start reading!

A little secret: if the name Arleen Alleman sounds familiar, it’s possible you became acquainted with her contemporary silver jewelry. Arleen was a highly popular jewelry designers before the writing bug bit her.  You are likely to hear her name more because she has some great stories to tell … starting with “Currents Deep and Deadly”.

This is a story you can’t put down especially if you love travel and suspense.  It is filled with nonstop action and adventure that  I couldn’t  put down after I flipped the first page. I liked the way Alleman cleverly intertwines relevant historical points and travelogue descriptions with adventure, romance, and who-done-it mystery.  This unique presentation, written from the perspective of a woman traveler, describes terrible yet wondrous events that have a profound impact on her life.

Confirmed cynic, Darcy Farthing is hiding a terrible secret until terrifying events on this month-long cruise reveal her carefully guarded past and threaten to destroy her already fragile psyche. When she unwittingly uncovers a shipboard murder plot, events soon spiral out of control. As crewmembers are murdered, she runs for her own life and battles a psychotic killer. This fictional cruise ship’s events fill the mind with “what if ….?”

I read her personally-signed (thank you Arleen) book twice.  Once before it went to the publisher and after it was finalized. Not only did I enjoy it as much the second time (tricky girl changed the ending one me AND I LOVED IT), but I just couldn’t get off my treadmill because I had to know happened  next–-what a great way to burn those extra calories.  Hurry Arleen Alleman and finish your next best-seller, “Currents of Vengeance”.

Arleen will make a special appearance for a 3 hour book signing at Hunter-Wolff Gallery on Friday, November 5 from 5-8 pm.  You can find “Currents Deep and Deadly”  at  Amazon and all the online bookstores if you can’t make this event.

Caution: Alleman’s action-filled book takes the reader on a journey that just might trigger a booking with your local travel agent.
