Roses in TerraCotta 10x8 by Justin Clements

Roses in Terracotta 10×8 by Justin Clements

A wise man told me nearly 40 years ago, “Always buy quality. Quality products last long after the price is forgotten.”  It doesn’t matter what you purchase, there is no substitute for top-grade quality and that goes for artwork too. Quality artwork is made with quality materials and showcased in quality frames and platforms.

Furthermore, what you do with your fine art makes a difference too.  Making your home inviting and comfortable by adding beautiful, original art isn’t the whole story. Displaying art correctly is as important as selecting the right art. It’s often a daunting job finding the right art and resources you can trust.  That’s why Hunter-Wolff Gallery offers helpful services to help complete the job of displaying your art for the most impact. When working on a bigger project that involves assembling an entire room, bring your color swatches, wall and key furniture measurements and your personal style.

To make your home inviting and beautiful means hand-picking and displaying timeless (quality) pieces correctly so they can be fully appreciated.  For example, hanging paintings too high or too low disrupts the room balance.  Worse is hanging “bargain” filler pictures/prints because you “need something decorative to fill up space”.

Lack of originality and quality sends a reminder every day.  You will enjoy your home more and your art when it reflects your style and echoes a sense of originality and harmony. Ask for guidance and acquire quality original art over time. Sharon at Hunter-Wolff Gallery will help you present your quality art properly and ensure artwork is hung correctly. Just ask!

The word is out! Pottery hounds are thrilled to learn that the date for Tony Heslop’s Seconds Sale is almost here!  Colorado Springs potter Tony Heslop is making room in his shop for new 2015 inventory!  And, like you, we really like Tony’s work and are excited to host another “Day of Pottery” to move his extra inventory so the new inventory has room. The sale includes inventory that is beautiful but may be limited in numbers or discontinued glazes or styles.

Hunter-Wolff Gallery planned this special  Seconds Sale on Saturday, January 24 opening two hours earlier than normal.  If you like a great deal and beautiful pottery, we suggest you come as early as you can because this event is a one day event, from 9 am to 6 pm, and we are expecting his many fans for a great turnout. If it is anything like last year, early shopping is a must.

Why would we do this when it goes against our core principles?  Quality is always important to us, and this event does not go against our core values. Hunter-Wolff Gallery would not allow items that are defective or broken in some way. And, because it is a New Year,  we wanted to something special out of the ordinary.

So mark your calendar and bring boxes for your purchases. Because this is such a great deal,  help us keep costs down by bringing cash or checks. You can expect to have tons of fun, where everyone leaves with something they consider a pottery prize. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, January 24 from 9 am to 6 pm.

If you have visited Colorado Springs and its historic district, Old Colorado City, there is a good chance you know the name of local potter Tony Heslop.  Tony is the preeminent potter known by thousands of collectors of his clayware.

For almost 40 years he sold his work year-round in Colorado Springs. You can find Tony Heslop’s pottery year-round at Hunter-Wolff Gallery, 2510 W. Colorado Avenue.

We love working with Tony because of his philosophy and work ethics. He wants anyone who appreciates pottery to be able to purchase his work because it is affordable.  Affordability is as important to him as the right design and glaze color.  This has been his mantra for decades.  “Make it well; make it affordable.” And, we add, “Buy Made In America!”

If you are looking for durability and functionality when preparing and serving food, think about hand-crafted pottery for these tasks. His vases and one-of-a-kind vessels can enhance a room, table top or shelf. His functional clayware pleases anyone with cooking skills, and his decorative Raku designs are unique and stunning for a mantel or on the floor.  You decide.

Come explore Tony Heslop’s pottery and check Hunter-Wolff Gallery’s website but be sure to call to see if something slipped in the door before it was posted on his webpage.  We receive new work from Tony every week and it finds its way to kitchens and homes across America quickly.

We ship Tony Heslop pottery everywhere in the US.  If you find something for a gift, call 719-520-9494 to get your order shipped in time for special event.

TIP:  Tony  Heslop Seconds Sales happens once a year.  Mark Your Calendar for January 24, 2015 and get on our mailing list.
