The Rose, 4x6

How does one explain the ability of a self-taught painter like Clifford T. Bailey?

It is like trying to explain the beautiful voice of 9-year-old Jackie Evancho.
It’s simply exciting to find these wonder-stars.  They are gifts we are lucky to receive. Like Jackie, Clifford Bailey quickly became one of my favorite artists. The fact that he is self-taught just amazes me.  His small still life works are reminiscent of the Old Masters in their technique with contrasting dark and light tones.  At Hunter-Wolff Gallery’s Anniversary event last evening, his small collection of perfectly rendered apples and pears created a stir along with his landscapes.  Everyone just loved his work. Now he is finishing another new painting of  a flawless single rose to add to the collection.  What will he do next?
If you love small paintings, he has several 4×6 and 5×7 framed still life works along with 8×10 landscapes you might consider.
