Rising Moon by Clifford T. Bailey

Have you ever walked into a room and felt the excitement of someone’s aura? I suppose there are good and bad auras.  The aura we are feeling at Hunter-Wolff Gallery is the GOOD kind.   We’ve experienced this over the years and my theory is it has something to do with new artwork.  It often doesn’t last as long as we would like but it’s definitely here now.

Maybe you can share your theory based on these facts.  We added a new artist, Clifford T. Bailey.  He’s now been with us for several months.  With other new artists, this aura typically dissipates after Opening Night.  Not so with Clifford T. Bailey.  He delivers one or two new pieces about every 2-3 weeks.  He calls, writes, communicates regularly.  We always have a lot to talk about because we have exciting news that another piece just sold  or  he is in the middle of finishing up a new piece for us.  There is a constant dialogue and two-way communication.  He is genuinely interested in the gallery’s  activity and the success of the gallery and helping us with our sales goals.

Then there are the admirers of his work. Whether someone knows this artist, collects his work or not, they are intrigued.  Intrigued enough to spend a lot of time studying his work (I mean a LOT of time).  Sometimes, people come back a day or two after to revisit and just stand in front of his work without moving or saying a word. Sometimes, they see his work for the first time, fall in love,  and within minutes are  buying it. And, in this economy, we can’t explain it but his work sells like everyone has a pile of cash sitting around.

How would you explain all this?  Is this an authentic artist aura we are experiencing?
