DONNA GORDON

Hunter-Wolff Gallery is proud to present the unique blown glass pieces created by native Colorado artist Donna Gordon. Each piece is created with an eye for perfection and a technique developed from the heart.Donna is highly respected for her work and is featured in several galleries across northern Colorado. Donna's career began when she started working with glass in the form of lampworking. She initially setup a home studio in her basement to create this form of glassblowing in which the glass is worked at a table or a bench and using a torch.

Shortly thereafter in the fall of 1999, Donna was drawn to the more complex art of glassblowing called offhand glassblowing, which is done by gathering molten glass from a furnace on a punty or blowpipe while using various tools to work and shape the glass. The artist literally uses their breath to bring this molten glass to life. Her passion for blowing glass propelled her into intense studies and advanced training in preparation for her next step as a highly skilled artist. After completing her initial studies, she decided to build her own hot glass studio. With the freedom she desired in her own studio, she designs and creates, not only her popular signature heart pieces but some of the most uniquely formed bowls, wall roundels and vases that collectors appreciate.
