Photographer Joseph Thomas captured this photograph at sunset in late July along the Washington Gulch Trail near Crested Butte, Colorado (Mount Crested Butte is the distant peak at the left side of the frame). Monsoon season brought rain showers each evening, but a gap in the clouds to the west is needed for rainbows to appear. Fortunately, that's exactly what occurred on this evening. A new technique blending multiple focal points allowed Joseph to overcome the camera’s “depth of field” limitations and create this image. Astonishingly, a male dusky grouse was strutting and booming behind him as he took the shot. "What an experience to photograph this magnificent display of nature before me, while another amazing spectacle of nature was occurring right behind me!"

22 x 28 fine art photographic print mounted on a wood plaque and sealed with an archival matte UV laminate, which eliminates reflections while maintaining excellent image clarity and contrast.
